There is no way I would be able to get through each day without the many wonderful friends that God has put in my life. I thought it would be nice if every few blog posts, I recognized one of these awesome people. I do want to say that this is in no particular order at all... I love all of my friends and family SO much and I don't want anyone to think that you are not special to me! 🙏
Without further ado, today I am thankful for..... Adena!

Adena is a very dear friend of mine and we talk every single day, thanks to Voxer. I actually remember when we first met - at a New Years party ringing in 2009. I knew her husband before I met her and I'm so glad that he had the guts to ask out the pretty girl in one of his classes and brought her to this party (and ended up marrying her). Well done, Mike! Over the years, we have grown very close. Yesterday we got to spend the day together doing a belated "Treat Yo Self" day at King of Prussia Mall. It was nice to spend this one on one time together since Adena is a very busy wife & mom of 3 (age 6 and under!) and works as a Barre instructor. She and her husband have always been supportive and loving friends. I am grateful for her kind heart and strong faith. She will often send me encouraging Bible verses or tell me about a good devotional or Joyce Meyer podcast that she just listened to. She has experienced the pain of losing an immediate family member when her only sibling passed away from Leukemia at the age of 13. Even though our circumstances of losing a family member are extremely different, she is able to relate to the feelings and emotions that you cycle through while dealing with grief.
We have been supportive of each others endeavors over the years. I have played in the golf tournament that Adena's family held to raise money for the Four Diamonds Fund, and I even ran the Hershey 5K with her in memory of her brother (those of you who know me well know much I hate running). Adena held a barre class earlier this year to raise funds to support my golf tournament and has been a yearly visitor to the Gifts that Give Hope event that I am the co-treasurer for. Adena, like all of my friends, is always there to stand by me in my work to honor my dad's memory and raise funds and awareness for mental health support.

Is there someone that you are grateful for today? Tell them that! Maybe a nice message from you about how much you appreciate them is just what they need to brighten their day. 😊❤🌹
