Crazy Kitty

I "introduced" you to my cat Martin on my National Cat Day post. Now, I'd like you to meet the 2nd kitty that I have. Martin is 13 years old and is the king of the castle and he was perfectly content to have that castle all to himself. However, back in May of 2016, a new cat came on to the scene. My last job was at a manufacturing/construction company and one day there was a tiny little kitten outside under a pallet. As it got later in the day, she wandered closer and closer to the office. When someone opened the front door, she got scared and ran underneath the closest car - mine. That day was literally the only day I have parked in that spot. Usually I was farther back in the parking lot. As my coworkers and I tried to get her out from under the car, she climbed up one of the tires and went into the wheel well and under the car. A bunch of us spent about 15-20 minutes trying to find the kitten. I was certain that she was still in my car somewhere, but my coworkers assured me that she must have gotten out. I wasn't fully convinced, but it was time to leave work, I had dinner plans with a friend and I was already running late.

First picture of baby Beam ❤

I drove to meet my friend for dinner (roughly a 10 mile drive) and told her the whole story as we ate. After dinner we walk out to the parking lot and we see someone looking at my car telling me they heard meowing. She was still in the undercarriage of my car! My friend went and bought some cat food and some kind strangers helped us lure the kitten out of the car. They say your pets pick you, and she was lucky she climbed into the car of a cat lover. I wanted to pick a name that went along with the story of how I got her, and I didn't want anything lame like "lucky" or something like that. My mom and I came up with "Beamer" since my car is a BMW. For the next few weeks I kept her separate from Martin and slowly introduced them.

A dirty little Beamer after her adventure under my car

Her personality is completely different from Martin. I'm sure part of it is because she is still a young and active cat. She is my little oddball- she scratches the wall, randomly bolts all over the house (more than any other cat I've had) and sometimes she'll just stare with this funny look on her face. Maybe she inhaled too many fumes when she was riding under the car 😂 I don't know if I would say that Beam and Martin don't like each other, but.... they don't spend any time together; they coexist. I still hear hissing sometimes, and "Beamer the Bully" will chase him around from time to time. She does have her cuddly moments, on her terms of course, but she does NOT like to be picked up and will let you know immediately.

Martin is my snuggly sweetheart, but Beam has her sweet moments and she makes me laugh. A lot of my friends get a laugh out of her when I send them the many pictures of Beamer being a master creeper. There is no way to explain how funny it is, so, at the suggestion of my friend, Jess, Every so often, I'll do a blog post specifically showing the many ways that Beam creeps on me.

Here is one of the first pictures of Creepin' Beam. As I was coming up my stairs, I turned to see this face looking at me 🤣😂🤣😂
